Reader Profile :D
Reader Profile: Futurism
Leda always attends raves and spends masses amount of money on rave outfits to wear at raves. She regularly buys electronic music magazines to find latest updates of her favourite artists/DJ. She is also very interested in the musical equipments to create the music so she reads a lot about it.
Futurism
I spent a while finding different fonts to use in my magazine and I finally found four different fronts that could potentially be used in my magazine. They all keep in the theme of futurism, I used dafont website to find the best ones.
The second font is very bold and stands out, but I think it’s rather dull and very conventional and I am looking for something new and unique that still sticks in with the theme of my magazine.
I really like the last two fonts. It is bold and really 'futuristic'. The third font is my favourite as it has a really new and unique font and looks very futuristic however it is not as bold as the last one.
I've decided to use the third font as it is very suitable for my magazine than the others, its very futuristic and has a unique style to it which would make it very notable for readers to remember and point it out amongst others.
KEY CONVENTIONS
After producing 3 analyses of existing magazines, I found key conventions which could be seen in all 3 magazines. They all included conspicuous colours and text; this is very effective in enticing readers. The mast head has the same font and colour (large, easy to read font) and it is always situated in the top, so it’s the first thing the reader reads. The readers knows that the mast head will be there, so it isn't always necessarily to have it completely shown, it sometimes partially covered, this won’t have an effect on not knowing what the magazine name is because it allowed to cover partially of the master head because it an established magazine. The magazine assumes that most people already know what the name of the magazine by just looking at it. Kerrang magazines have similar layouts of their magazine
The artists on the cover are usually mid shot as it provides emphasis on the artist. The artist on front cover is usually a notable person, hence why it is on the front cover so it can intrigue readers. Readers usually buy the magazine because of who is on the front cover. The front cover is very crucial in attracting customers as customers tend to judge magazines by the front cover, so creating an effective front cover is ever so important as it needs to appeal customers then the rest of the pages need to be excellent to make the customer satisfied so the customers become loyal customers.
The text type is usually the same for each issue as this keeps their brand consistent so customers can be able to identify it. The text type tends to fit in with the theme of the magazine; for example Kerrang, the font has scratch like marks on it which is very in theme with rock culture as its stereotype is dark and dangerous.

MAGAZINE ANALYSIS
This is a magazine analysis of Beloit magazine
analysis.
This cover is a college magazine of a student in a science
lab. The camera shot is mid-shot which shows a student conducting an
experiment. This shot is very effective as it clearly represents the college
well as it shows the student really focused on the work and she looks as if she
is enjoying what she is doing which is why the college chose this picture to
represent this.
Also, behind the student there are science equations etc.
blurred out but yet still visible which suits the theme of the magazine and
also adds emphasis to the ‘science theme’ on the cover. There are also props present in the shot
which are also still in the ‘science theme’ which is very effective as it
doesn’t distract readers as the covers main focus is on science.
The font used in the title of the magazine is bold and
large, this is very effective as it stands out and catches the reader’s
attention and it also makes the readers aware of the college name. It uses a
white colour for the text as it suits the colour and it is not harsh on the
cover. This colour used softens the large bold title.
The clothes the student is wearing is appropriate and
effective as it conveys to readers that the students at Beloit are not
stereotypical ‘white lab coat’ science students but individual and unique
students who get to be who they want. This picture projects to the readers that
studying at Beloit it is not typical formal student. This is effective as it
changes the perception of the readers. Therefore this magazine cover is very
effective as it projects their college well.
